the drilling machine obtains the gel strength, so the mud can discharge air in it easily and discard debris in a pit quickly. Same as other suspending dispersoid, the drilling mud has certain guarantee period and after added with CMC, it will become stable and has an extended guarantee period.

Mud containing CMC is seldom affected by the bacterium and requires no high PH value or corrosion resistant.

Mud containing CMC has excellent stability and will still be able to reduce the filtration loss even at above 150.

Polyanionic cellulose (PAC) is a kind of good drilling mud agent and the material to prepare drilling fluids with high mud yield and excellent salt resistance. PAC is an excellent filtration reducer against the mud of fresh water, salt water and saturated salt water and also has the good capability to improve the viscosity and resist the high temperature (150). Besides, it still can prepare the drilling fluids with various densities and still can keep the drilling fluids with certain viscosity and lower filtration even under the condition of calcium chloride increased.

4. Applications :

1. PAC-HV is for water-based drilling fluids, which can effectively reduces the filtration rate of many water-based oil and gas drilling fluids and may also be used to increase and stabilize viscosity to improve hole cleaning and suspension properties in a wide variety of fluid environment.

2. PAC-LV is for use in solids-laden, water-based drilling fluids, which can effectively reduces the filtration rate of many water-based drilling fluids, without causing significant increases in viscosity or gel strength.

3. PAC R is a cost-effective additive to reduce API filtration rate of many water based drilling fluids including freshwater, seawater, saturated saltwater and solids-free brines, native mud, flocculated mud, inhibited mud and contaminated systems.

4. PAC R increases and stabilizes viscosity to improve rheology, wellhole cleaning and suspension property by coating and encapsulating cuttings and solids of drilling fluids.

5. PAC R is effective over a wide range of pH environments. It lubricates solids in the system, improve wallcake characteristics and reduces the potential for stuck pipe.
